She was married to Edmund Greufe on April 17, 1928 in Montrose. They farmed in Missouri until moving to central Iowa in 1937. They farmed in and around the Williams area until moving to the Milo farm in 1951. For many years she enjoyed being a member of a local women's group: The Our Day Out Club. She was a member of St.

Augustine's Parish in Milo. Her family and the church were foremost in her life. Margaret was preceded in death by husband Edmund; daughters: Ann Greufe, Elfrieda Heinen, and Dorothy Holdgrafer; son-in-law Joe Holdgrafer; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and siblings: Del Licher, Bernadine Greufe, Leonard Kalwei, Paul Kalwei, Ed Kalwei, John Kalwei and Teresa Cook. Margaret is survived by children: Pauline (Gerald) Wadle, Arlene (Charles) Walker, Irene (Dick) Knickerbocker, Ruth (Michael) Penisten, Bernice (Jerry) Weeks, Sterling (Pat) Greufe, and Mavis (Ron) Dittmer; 38 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; and 19 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings: Regina Cook of Sedalia, Josephine Cook of Independence, and Ben Kalwei of Montrose.

The family wishes to thank the hospice team and every staff member: at Pleasant Care Living Center for their loving care of Mom during her last months. JUDY K. WIGNALL Des Moines Judy K. Wignall, 58, died unexpectedly from heart failure on June 30, 2010 at Mercy Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.

followed by burial at Berwick Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Judy was born July 12, 1951 to Wendell and Irene Keeneyi in Des Moines.

She enjoyed going to the races in Knoxville and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Judy was a kind and loveable woman who took care of those around her. Judy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Glen Wignall; son, Ron (Patricia) Wignall; grandchildren, Devin and Taylor Wignall; brothers, Rick (Kathy) Keeney, Mike (Marilyn) Keeney, John Bikley and Ed (Janeen) Keeney; sisters, Carolyn (Charles) Higgins, Carol Sue (Mike) Maddux and Sharon Keeney; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Memorial contributions will be received by the family. GENE WILLIAM FOSTER Des Moines Gene Foster, 85, died on June 28, 2010 at Calvin Community in Des Moines.

Mr. Foster was born on December 9, 1924 in Adams County to Dale and Cassie (Else) Foster. He graduated from Cromwell High School in 1941 and Drake University in 1976. He served in I the U.S. Navy as a radio operator on the U.S.S.

Sullivans. Gene was married in 1948 to Darlene Lucille Franklin. He retired from John Deere-Des Moines Works as a technical writer in 1982. Gene and Darlene enjoyed the many friendships gained through 35 years of round dancing. He was a faithful member of the Ankeny First United Methodist Church.

Gene was active in the Navy-Marine Corps military affiliate radio system, and was recognized for 45 years of faithful service. WOHNY signing off. Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Foster. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; daughter, Susan (John) Lees Iber; son, Mark (DeArra) Foster; sisters, Janice (Hal) Severn and Joanne (Paul) Chitty; grandchildren, Kate Foster, Emily (Chad) Foster Bissell, Nathan (Theresa) Lees, and Matthew Lees; great grandchildren, Avery and Lauren Bissell and Isaac and Noah Lees. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 2 at Ankeny First United Methodist Church (206 SW Walnut Ankeny).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Brooks Funeral Care University Chapel MAXINE WILLIAMS Des Moines Maxine Williams passed away June 30, 2010 at Bright Kavanaugh House.

Maxine was born July 5, 1919 in Des Moines to Gilbert and Florence (Marchant) Kelsey. She was united in marriage to Lee Williams on December 9, 1939. She had lived in Rolfe, Pocahontas and Davenport before returning to Des Moines in 1942. Maxine worked for the State of Iowa for many years as secretary to the Safety Commissioner before retiring in 1976. She was currently a member of Norwoodville Baptist Church, and prior to that, she attended Grandview Park Baptist Church for over 70 years where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years.

Maxine is survived by her children, Lana Lee Holt, Lanny J. (Cheri) Williams and Toni L. Williams; grandchildren, Ginger (Jim) Cousins, Thatcher Williams, Thayer (Libby) Williams and Jodi Hastings; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jordan, Jacob and Chloe; and many other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, former Des Moines Fire Chief, Lee Williams, her two sisters and baby brother. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.

Ruby was born on December 2, 1917 to William and Cora Marshall Humphrey in Kearney, Nebraska. Ruby graduated from Kearney High School in 1936.

In the fall of 1939, she came to Des Moines, Iowa to attend Open Bible Institute. While attending Open Bible Institute, she met Eugene L. Vestal who she married on February 14, 1942. To this union was born three children, Ronald, Sharon and Terry. Ruby lived a very active and industrious life.

She worked at various retail and service oriented jobs after her children were raised. She worked at Lutheran Hospital, Scottish Rite Park, Younkers, Employer's Mutual Insurance Hamilton's Funeral Home and was a care companion for older ladies. She was also always busy at her church, the former Calvary Open Bible, now Eastwood Church of the Open Bible. Most recently she was involved in the Care Ministry and the Prayer Chain Ministry. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of Gideons International-East Des Moines Camp.

During the last three years, Ruby has resided at Walden Point Assisted Living Center and has been involved in the social activities of that home. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, one sister, and three grandsons. She is survived by her son Ronald (JoAnn) Vestal of Pleasant Hill; daughter, Sharon (Fred) Webb of Chesapeake, VA; and son, Terry (Bonnie) Vestal of Bondurant; three grandsons, Matthew (Arlene) Webb of Omaha, NE, Ryan (Christine) Vestal of Waterloo, and Aaron Vestal of Altoona; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Webb of Omaha, NE; and one great-grandson, Grant Webb of Omaha, NE. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. He was born near Marceline, MO on November 1, 1913. Elie married Mildred E. Thornsberry at her parents' home in Troy, MO on June 8, 1941. Elie served three and a half years with the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. In 1998, he retired after 33 years of service with the Social Security Administration.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred; a brother, Marvin Hedrick; and sisters, Oleta Fox and Audrey Spearman. Survivors include sons, David B. Hedrick and William L. (Betty) Hedrick; granddaughters, Lisa M. (Kevin) Oelke, Stephanie L.
